Global Competence Associates is dedicated to all facets of preparing the global workforce of tomorrow, from assessment to training and development, as well as certification. Our work is based entirely on worldwide consensus research that defined "global competence," and determined the necessary cultural knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills, which are presented in the Global Competence Model™. The Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA)® can be used in conjunction with training and coaching as a diagnostic tool to target the most appropriate development pathways.
Global Competence Associates has been providing services to corporations, nonprofits, academia, and the government since 2005. We are also the providers of Diversity Perspectives™ DEI developmental programs and authors of the Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA)®.
"Having flexible, respectful attitudes...and applying knowledge of the historical, geographic, and societal factors that influence cultures in order to effectively interact and build relationships with people around the world.”
• Self-Awareness (knowledge of self and awareness of fit in cultural locus)
• Risk Taking (curiosity about other cultures and aspiration for personal growth)
• Open-Mindedness (mental agility without judgement)
• Attentiveness to Diversity (recognition of and respect for any differences observed)
• Global Awareness (visible aspects of culture)
• Historical Perspective (hidden aspects of culture, which can lead to cultural faux pas)
• Intercultural Capability (cultural adaptability to show respect, build rapport)
• Collaboration Across Cultures

The Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA)® is the world's most comprehensive measure of global readiness. It is based on original research that determined the worldwide consensus definition of global competence and was published and cited worldwide in internationally peer-reviewed journals. The GCAA® is the only assessment that measures all the dimensions necessary for global competence - a 21st century skill - as intended by original research findings, as well as reported, and cited in refereed journals across the globe.
The GCAA® objectively measures self-awareness, attitudes, cultural knowledge, and interpersonal skills, and it provides real-time individual and aggregate reporting. Clients include business, government, nonprofit, and education sectors across all six (6) continents.
GCAA® Highlights:
Certification may be critical when you need a deeper understanding of GCAA® diagnostics. By acquiring credentials, you are also able to demonstrate your global competence expertise. Become a Certified Global Competence Practitioner by the experts in global competence. To join our network, attend one of our certification programs and gain global competence mastery skills, and you will also benefit from ongoing support in a community of certified practitioners that spans the world.
Benefits:
We provide GCAA® debrief sessions as well as global competence training programs that are customized to meet clients’ development needs. Global Competence training programs can be delivered independently or as support to targeted and prioritized Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA)® metrics.
Courses can cover the three broad categories of global knowledge, attitudes or interpersonal skills, or they can focus on individual or combinations of dimensions of the Global Competence Model™.
Our organization’s training roots are in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming, which we call Diversity Perspectives™. The objectives of DEI parallel seamlessly with those of global competence—appreciating and respecting people of diverse backgrounds. The Global Competence Model™ can provide a robust structure that can be flexible to various DEI situations. Although, instead of a global span, the scope for DEI can be adapted to regional, national, or local geography, as desired.
However, aligning DEI initiatives with a competency framework fosters more holistic approaches to DEI for truly inclusive applications throughout the organization.
