This webcast is based on the recently released report from ATD and the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), Instructional Design Now: A New Age of Learning and Beyond. The report explores a learning landscape rich in emerging opportunities, populated by professionals eager to create and unleash content that drives employee development and organizational performance.

Report author and i4cp senior researcher Carol Morrison is joined by Nanette Temby of Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ field skills development—sales training and development team. The webinar offers an overview of key findings from the study and explores the instructional design work enabling mobile delivery of advanced sales training via virtual classrooms at Novartis. The presenters will also discuss strategies used by Novartis to help training-team members learn new skills to keep pace with evolving learning technologies and instructional design techniques.

Nan Temby leads the Field Skills Development team of the US Training and Development organization at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation headquartered in East Hanover, NJ.  Nan has been in the T&D industry for over 15 years working as a regional sales trainer early in her career and transitioning into curriculum design after earning her Master of Education in Instructional Design from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.  Nan currently leads a team responsible for the creation and execution of the advanced sales competencies curriculum  at Novartis, approximately 50 percent of which is delivered via Adobe Connect virtual classrooms on mobile devices.   Nan works as a “mostly” remote employee for Novartis and lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her husband, Will, and two children.
