Lisa Cairns

Vice President of Learning & Development, Smith & Associates

Lisa Cairns currently serves as the Vice President of Learning & Development at Smith, where she developed Smith University by architecting, designing, and overseeing unique content creation, and enhancing talent development for all of Smith’s global offices, operations, and distribution hubs. In 2019, Smith University earned a bronze award in Chief Learning Officer magazine’s LearningElite awards, just nine months after its inaugural launch. Prior to this position, Lisa served in many roles for Smith and Smith-affiliated entities including Chief Strategy Officer for ZettaWorks and VP of EcoStrategy for ONTILITY.

Before her long tenure at Smith, Lisa was a professor of linguistic anthropology and taught at several higher ed institutions including Texas A&M University, The University of Michigan, Northwestern University, and her alma mater, The University of Chicago. Lisa earned her Ph.D. and A.M. in Linguistics from The University of Chicago, during which time she was awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant. She holds a B.A. from Hofstra University, where she was Hofstra's first woman undergraduate to be awarded a Fulbright-Hayes Grant for independent research prior to attending graduate school.  


Kimo Kippen

Kimo Kippen, President of Aloha Learning Advisors, is a thought leader, speaker and advocate for life-long learning and talent development. A native of Hawai'i, former Chief Learning Officer at Hilton, recognized by CLO Magazine as Chief Learning Officer of the year - 2015, and former VP of Learning at Marriott International, Kimo has been creating life-long learning solutions for hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

Kimo has served as chairman of the board for the Association for Talent Development (formerly, American Society for Training & Development) and currently is a board member of the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning (CAEL), and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Board of Visitors. He is also chairman of the board for the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF), serves as advisor to Study.com, the Executive Advisory Board for Skillsoft and is Program Director for The Conference Board Talent & Organizational Development Executive Council (TODEC).

Nestor Navidad is a leader in learning & development and in the learning technology space. He has over 20 years of experience working with organizations like Nike and Roche leading strategies and execution of digital transformation, employee experience and learning solutions. Nestor is currently the Director, Digital Learning & Experience, at Genentech in Commercial Training & Development and brings his expertise in the areas of learning technologies, instructional design, user experience design, content and data management.

Nestor stays focused on what is most impactful to the customer and the business, forming teams with a shared purpose, embracing an environment of wellbeing and inclusivity while maintaining a high degree of collaboration and accountability. He has been able to leverage his BA in Industrials Arts along with his MA in Instructional Technology from SFSU to solve business problems. He is passionate about technology (new and old), continuous learning, impactful leadership, diversity & inclusion, and reimagining the learning experience to unlock the full potential of employees to drive business impact.


Kimberly Currier
Kimberly Currier

Global Vice President, Leadership Development, AECOM

Kimberly is a strategic and systems thinker who resolves challenges and creates innovative solutions. Her career in strategic Talent Management and Talent Development includes executive roles with AECOM, North Highland Worldwide Consulting, Kimberly-Clark Corporation and The American Cancer Society. Her key strengths are people leadership, creating strategic alignment between talent development, human resources and organizational goals, and designing meaningful programs that link directly to company performance and people experience and engagement.

With 21 years of increasingly complex roles, Kimberly has specialized in building departments, teams and programs that drive a progressive HR focus with an emphasis as coaching as a culture lever. She has capitalized on her strengths and experiences to drive improved enterprise performance through the creation of impactful solutions for people, teams and organizations.
