Strength-based coaching

Wednesday, June 5, 2013 12:00pm - 1:00pm EDT
Host: Association for Talent Development
By: Valerie Plis, President, StrengthBuilders, LLC

Let’s face it. Throughout our coaching careers we’ve all dealt with clients who lacked motivation and confidence, seemed nebulously disconnected from the coaching process, or struggled to make progress in their goals. As a coach we understand the client owns their progress, however, we can’t help but wonder if there’s something different we could be doing to make the coaching more meaningful and impactful.

While coaching models emphasize the “process” and assessments focus solely on the “individual,” strengths-based coaching brings together the best of both worlds. It provides an individualized coaching approach that has proven to excite, engage, and empower individuals to success. Whether your client is a high school student or an executive, strengths-based coaching will increase self-awareness, explore the connection between their strengths and past successes, and equip them to take decisive action on future goals.

During this one-hour presentation you will:
• gain a better understanding of strengths-based coaching
• discover two activities you can use with your clients to assess natural talent
• learn practical examples for incorporating strengths-based coaching with your clients

Valerie Plis, Strengths Performance & Leadership Development Coach & Facilitator, will facilitate this high-impact, high-participation session that is sure to excite, educate, and equip you with new skills to become a more effective and impactful coach!
