Kate James is a New York-based comedy writer, actor, and improviser. When not writing and performing, she has spent the past 12 years traveling the world facilitating for Second City Works&mdash;a division of the famed comedy institution The Second City. Her clients include Verizon, IBM, PWC, Deloitte, SAP, Whirlpool, ADP, Mars, Salesforce, Princeton University, Hertz, Hubspot, Dropbox, Morgan Stanley, PepsiCo, Tiffany, Abbvie, MetLife, and Spotify. Kate has written for Showtime (<em>Work In Progress</em>), Comedy Central (<em>Jordan Klepper Solves Guns</em>), NPR (<em>Schadenfreude</em>), Slate (<em>Trumpcast</em>), The Second City (<em>SC's Guide to the Opera</em> and <em>The Art of Falling</em>), the band Phish (<em>2018 Halloween Show</em>), and numerous awards shows. She has also appeared on the TV shows <em>Easy</em> (Netflix), <em>Playing House</em> (USA), and <em>Shameless</em> (Showtime); she will appear regularly on <em>Work in Progress</em> (Showtime), which debuts later this year. She plays Tricia on the cult-hit podcast <em>Hello From the Magic Tavern</em> (Earwolf).
