Dr. Singer-Chang has been a medical educator for over twenty years. At Western University of Health Sciences’ (WesternU) College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP), Dr. Singer-Chang served in a variety of capacities to include Founding Chair of the Department of Social Medicine and Healthcare Leadership, Founding Director of the Institute for Medical Educators (faculty development), Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, and Assistant Dean for Inter-Disciplinary Professional Education. She headed the only known large scale, longitudinal, inter-professional study, on osteopathic medical student Emotional Intelligence (EI) utilizing the MHS EQ-I 2.0 instrument. Recognizing the implications for physician training, the study was awarded a grant from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The research grew to encompass multiple healthcare disciplines to include dentistry, podiatry, optometry, nursing, physical therapy, resident training, and medical military studies. The study also expanded to include use of the new MHS Hardiness Resilience Gauge (HRG).

Dr. Singer-Chang was appointed to the AOA Research Task Force on Osteopathic Professional Identity and served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA).
