As the chief science officer at Hogan Assessments, Ryne Sherman, PhD, is responsible for managing Hogan’s industry-leading data science department, including talent analytics, product innovation, business intelligence, and Hogan’s research archive and infrastructure. Ryne is the cohost of The Science of Personality podcast and regularly writes and speaks about personality, leadership, and workplace personality assessment.
The author of more than 50 scientific papers, Ryne is an expert on modern approaches to personality assessment, including unobtrusive assessment, data analytics, and the use of artificial intelligence in conjunction with personality assessment. His research has examined the role of personality in daily life, career pursuits, and workplace performance. He was awarded federal support from the National Science Foundation for his research on the psychological properties of situations and their interaction with personality. In 2016, he was named an APS Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science. In 2018, he received the SAGE Young Scholars Award for his research on person-situation transactions.
