ATD Research will be discussing the data and findings of their latest research on manager development. 

In this webinar we will discuss how organizations are providing ongoing training for people managers. We'll talk about the methods they are using, topics they train on, and how they are continuing to provide support for managers. 

Some key findings from the study: 

  • 51% of organizations offer more than one manager development program.
  • 74% of respondents say that providing feedback is a major area of focus for their manager development program.
  • 62% of organizations use coaching or mentoring when training managers.
  • 16% of organizations require all managers to take refresher training.
  • 19% of respondents rate their organization’s manager development efforts as extremely or highly successful.

Prior to joining ATD, she studied trends related to graduate education and training for the American Psychological Association as a research officer. She has a master’s degree in sociology from American University.

Rocki Basel, Ph.D. joined the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in 2022 and is the director of research. Before joining ATD, she was a researcher for other national membership organizations. Her research interests include workplace culture, employee engagement, mental health, and organizational communication. She has a Ph.D. in communication studies from Kent State University.
